Welcome to the Blackwood Country Fire Service website.
Founded in 1950, Blackwood Country Fire Service along with Belair Country Fire Service, Eden Hills Country Fire Service, Belair National Park Country Fire Service, Coromandel Valley Country Fire Service and Cherry Gardens Country Fire Service covers the area of Craigburn Ward and The Park Ward of the City of Mitcham and sections of the City of Onkaparinga in the State of South Australia.
It is an area of 9200 hectares. The western part of the area has approximately 8000 homes (25000 residents), schools, hospitals, nursing homes and large shopping complexes. The eastern area is mainly rural which includes the Belair National Park. The southern area is mainly rural which includes the Sturt Gorge and Mt Bold Reservoir catchment area.
Brigade Leadership
Officers
All leaders of the brigade are elected every two years at our Annual General Meeting.

Jamie Emswiler
Captain
Jamie has been a member of the brigade since 2006. He has had many roles during his time with Blackwood CFS, including Social Club President, Senior FF and Lieutenant.
Matt Edwards
1st Lieutenant
Matt is a long-time member of the brigade and currently serves as the Chair of the Operations Committee. He has served as a officer since 2010.


Lucas Willson
2nd Lieutenant
Lucas has been a member of the brigade since 2002. He is a Life Member of the brigade and is current responsible for the equipment and stowage on our Rescue appliance.
Ryan Pym
3rd Lieutenant
Ryan joined the brigade in 2006 and is currently responsible for the stowage and equipment on our CAFS appliance.


Tom Painter
4th Lieutenant
Tom was previously a Senior Firefighter and held the cadet coordinator position in the group. He is responsible for the equipment and stowage of our 34P appliance.
Senior Firefighters
Shaun Willson (SFF1), Matt Stratfold (SFF2), Lachlan Burow (SFF3), Eddie Painter (SFF4)
Our Senior Firefighters are elected every two years at our AGM and each is responsible for one of our four crews.
